Scientist interested in RNA and gene regulation. My passions are paraspeckles, RNA therapeutics for cancer and everything hiking/nature/community.
After only a few weeks on here I’m so happy that @bsky.app is delivering the goods! Lots of cool papers and preprints peppering my feed and a tingling, excited science community sharing and celebrating discoveries and insights ❤️

Brilliant.
The next week I had a regular meeting with the CEO. He asked about my management approach. I was confused. He clearly thought there was some secret sauce.

I said slowly:

I ASKED HER WHAT SHE THOUGHT AND LISTENED TO HER

And sometimes I changed my plans or approach depending of what she said.

We’ve had nearly 3 years of review, review, review.

We need reviews, but it’s blindingly obvious that Australian research needs much greater Government investment while those reviews are done.

This was true 3 years ago. Still true now.

For my first proper Bluesky post (where I hope to connect with scientists mostly).. how about a bit of non-science-related imagery. Behold a feast of apricots, hand picked by me and @charliebondxray.bsky.social at an orchard north of Perth. Let the jam making begin!
