The only thing that made money this last years in Square Enix was Final Fantasy XIV, they managed to defeat WoW in being the main focus on MMO and getting to the mainstream.
Instead of trying to power that they ignored it and decided to make a Splatoon wanabee, leading to the dawnfall of the game
