Thank you Senator Cory Booker. This guy truly cares about the people he represents.
"I don't want a Disney vacation of our history! I don't a whitewashed history, I don't want a homogenized history. Tell me the wretched truth about America, because that speaks to our greatness" -- 20 hours into his speech, Cory Booker is spitting absolute 🔥

Transgender rights are human rights.

This International Day of Transgender Visibility, Amnesty Feminists remind us that transgender existence is not up for debate.

We must support the transgender community and demand an end to transgender hate crimes.

🚨 MPs are being asked to vote on disability social security cuts without knowing the full impact.

This is a political choice. It’s cost-cutting at the expense of people with disabilities.

Reckless and cruel.

⚡️Why we took action:

After 30 years of neglect, the legal aid system is in crisis. We need more than sticking plaster solutions!

The Government must go further and listen to people who have been left without access to justice.

We demand a sustainable, well-funded legal aid system for all! ✊🏽

A welfare system should be a safety net, not a trapdoor. Yet policies that strip away support are doing precisely that - pushing marginalised people into deeper hardship.

We need a system that tackles inequality and doesn't punish those already struggling.

If apartheid was wrong in South Africa, it is wrong in Israel. If ethnic cleansing was wrong in Bosnia, it is wrong in Palestine. If genocide was wrong in Rwanda, it is wrong in Gaza. There is no principled way to support human rights in one context while excusing their violation in another.

state sanctioned abandonment of the most marginalised in society following on from a mass disabling event (the pandemic), the rising cost of living, cost of heating and eating, is a very special form of avarice and cruelty. desensitisation and dehumanisation is being woven into politics smh
