If Canadians really want to support trans folks in the U.S., they have to fight like hell against the same anti-trans rhetoric and policies here at home. We literally have provinces passing anti-trans legislation. Canada is not safe.

Just hours after U.S. President Trump’s imposed short-lived but sweeping tariffs across the country last Tuesday, B.C. Premier Eby took the stage to announce a budget intended to weather incoming economic storms, including ramping up resource development like mining and gas extraction.

And here is where, again, we need to stop talking about "the public sphere" as if it ever existed. There were always multiple publics - some w/ more power & access to mainstream spaces like media where political deliberation happens - there are dominant publics, counterpublics, and more.

The math of our housing crisis is brutally clear.

What does it tell you about Canada that every major political party committed itself to completing the TRC's 94 Calls to Action yet, 9 years in, only 13 have been completed—with no new completed calls whatsoever in 2023 or 2024? The failure of reconciliation has been, quite frankly, shameful.
