🧵It’s official-@HUDgov is slashing overall permanent housing funds by roughly 2/3 in its main #homelessness solutions program–the Continuum of Care(CoC). If Congress doesn’t undo this harmful change, over 170K formerly unhoused people will lose housing assistance next year.

Powerful @newsweek.com piece from @annymoliva.bsky.social @naehomelessness.bsky.social on the importance of HUD staff & funding.

The Admin. & many in Congress are also taking other actions that threaten families' economic security & could increase #homelessness.

HUD's work profoundly affects people’s lives: HUD backs loans for homes, apartments, and nursing homes, helps seniors and people with disabilities on fixed incomes stay in their homes, finances new affordable buildings, helps prevent discrimination, and more.
