It's Banned Book Week! When I mentioned this my colleague recommended The Librarians documentary about the book bans sweeping the US. Cinema showings are limited (but I believe it's also playing on BBC4 tomorrow)

How it started Vs How it's going. My tbr list after about 6 months. I know it looks like no progress has been made, but I have read quite a bit, I swear!

Is anyone else fighting back their tbr list? Any recommendations for where I should start?

Thanks to Nonsuch school for letting me talk to their Yr8 students about Rebel Skies and being an author! Also congrats to Clive the Capybara who is now the Yr8's shikigami and will be delivering pepsi to all.

I haven't been here much. Going through a bit of a crisis. Wrote two separate sapphic stories. One SF and one Fantasy, and both were shot down by my publisher so I've been scrambling to try and find something else to present to them. The joys of being an author.

Had a dream where people use cat guides in order to travel to different worlds except some cats are really stupid and will take you to instead random world instead because they smell catnip or something and I need this in a book.

I attended the Chatham House talk on Battling Disinformation and Making digital spaces safe for the LGBTQ community. An interesting event which leaves me with much to think about regarding the global nature of disinformation and the internet's role.

Almost all of the bugs and problems and breakage in the software you use is known to the engineers, we just aren't allowed to fix it. Gotta ship new features.

My work has forced us all into a meeting about how to use AI in our work to draft documents and generate images. I asked about the ethics of using generative AI to create images... and was completely ignored.
