I mean, you could pay $10 to read Ryan Lizza‘s writing about Olivia Nuzzi’s sexcapades with the brainworm guy or you could lick the floor of a bus stop bathroom for free. Either way you’ll end up with the same taste in your mouth.

Choose wisely…

Now that we’ve learned DOGE has been quietly shut down to save money (LOL), we should again ask, where are the arrests and indictments for all the fraud that DOGE found?

They spoke of lights left on 24 hours a day and of interstate transfers that came without notice. They described food that was inadequately distributed and made them unwell. Of being forced to urinate and defecate in front of fellow detainees and guards. Of being humiliated and mocked by officers.

There was a disquieting sameness to the horror that was described to us. Those we interviewed despaired at how the detention centers were kept purposefully, horrendously cold, forcing some of them to huddle up against strangers.

Read this. These atrocities are happening right here in this country. Right now.

Home Depot could implement a policy requiring ICE to present a judicial warrant before operating on its property. Businesses are fully within their rights to decide who is allowed on their premises.

Impeachment isn’t an option, it’s a necessity. I know firsthand the lengths Trump is willing to go in order to silence dissent.

Impeach, convict, remove. And if our current leaders won’t do it, they need to step aside for people who will: www.youtube.com/watch?v=jo54...

This is…brilliant.
In Monrovia, California, protesters are purchasing 17¢ ICE scrapers from Home Depot and immediately returning them to create long lines and slow down the entire store. Their aim is to disrupt sales and convey a message opposing ICE raids occurring in their neighborhood.

I work in cancer research (I search people’s charts and file relevant information to be useful later) and the harm RFK Jr has done, is doing, and will do is sickening and harms patients daily.

I hope one day RFK Jr is unable to get the help he needs because of research he prevented from happening.

Just an absolutely gutting essay by Tatiana Schlossberg, a writer, mother of two young children, and cousin of RFK Jr who is dying of leukemia.

Every word of this piece. I didn’t grow up in a religious household, but the Christian influence was present and the misogyny was rampant. Even my mother disciplined me with a double-standard. My bros had fewer boundaries, but they didn’t benefit in the long run. Important to note, Dad failed us all

It’s remarkable to me how purity culture and rape culture protest against contraception and against abortion, while completely erasing or denying the male role in rape and incest

And then you can get into the discussion of whether some males want immature female bodies for sex because they are unacknowledged/closeted gay men who actually desire male bodies - no breast, hips, curves of any kind.

I think we're losing sight of the reason some males want minors for sex partners - young girls are seen as pliable, having no needs or desires or boundaries, sexually or otherwise. Males who prey on young girls just can't cope with an adult partner. They want breathing dolls.

So when Kelly talked about “the barely legal type” and girls who could pass as adults, that immediately smacked to me of the same logic.

It’s one where the purity of girls is supposed to be protected at all costs, especially because of the depravity of men.

On a peer-to-peer level this is troubling.

But young girls are also often told that their dress and behavior—really, just their sexual nature—can be a “stumbling block” for the older men around them.

In other words, it’s their fault for looking so mature.

Men are presumed to be sexually untamed, even deviant.

That doesn’t mean purity culture doesn’t also try to shame and control them, but there’s a built-in assumption that they’ll probably fail to keep chaste.

So the onus is on the girls to help them out.

More than anything, it’s a worldview that by default makes girls into sexual objects both because of their immediate capacity to incite male lust and their future use value to their hypothetical husbands.
