I think that’s just like being a Lions fan.
From @theathletic.bsky.social: Our senior writer tried to drink coffee like Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell for a day to learn how caffeine boosts performance. It was an "insane amount of caffeine," he writes. nyti.ms/42LLSRE

How many train wrecks do we have to survive before we pull our heads out of our collective asses and let women run this country?

They called it from day one.

Nothing really prepares you the heartbreak for when your parents get old and aren’t able to fully care for themselves.

As I get closer to the Cap10k run, my runs are getting slower and sluggish and ughish. It must be allergy season in Austin!

Bingo.
Its not that using ableist language is "offensive" alone, it is in that using ableist epithets, we normalize the idea that disability is a state of undesirable, laughable inferiority and otherness, and that disabled people deserve to the butt of the joke for some intrinsic reason--its insidious

Elon Musk bought the presidency—now he’s gutting the Dept of Education.

In Texas, a group of billionaires bought Greg Abbott—now they’re trying to gut schools with a voucher scam.

I have a message for Elon Musk, Jeff Yass, Tim Dunn, & Betsy DeVos:

Our schools are not for sale.

My tiny experiment of no social media for a week was a success. I worked more deeply, finished three books this week, and generally felt less anxious.

Still haven't checked into Facebook or Instagram.

I think I'm gonna stick with Bluesky for a while.

Lately, social media has been a huge distraction from work. Gonna try a tiny experiment, a la @neuranne.bsky.social - I'm going to refrain from all social media for a week - including, and this is a big one for me - Reddit.

Wish me luck!

This is a great alternative to Goodreads. Give up on Goodreads y'all - you'll never win one of their giveaways.
people who use goodreads: jeff bezos owns goodreads and if you want a better alternative there is a black woman owned company called storygraph that you can use to replace it. you can transfer all of your data from goodreads to storygraph and have your mind be free of trumpie jeff bezos! win win. 💙
