In 2015, a man commented "looks great!" on a picture of a cake his niece had baked, and that is the last normal thing anyone has said on the internet.

A reminder that this anti-trans panic is 100% bullshit and exactly none of our country’s problems are related to someone expressing their gender identity and everyone who isn’t a hate-filled weirdo knows it.

Pinterest gave me this the other day and I was all “me, choosing cooking music” and now, this week’s BRILLIANT MINDS feat. a ‘90s British boy band song from an album I 100% have forced on my husband in the kitchen.

Rude for the show to point out it was a song from 30 years ago, but here we are.

Joined Hampton and his bestie and their Wake Forest Women’s Basketball season tickets courtside for the first time.

This may or may not mean he’s got to go to an audition with me Monday night.

This is incredibly important:

we must frame tonight as a resounding victory — an electoral landslide, a mandate from the universe itself

and as a repudiation of MAGA, of Trump, and of vichy democrats

we must be relentless, we must not shut up

I’m just a small-town political scientist, & it’s still relatively early, but it appears that The Actual Democrats did not Need To Do any of the Things or Learn any of the Obvious Lessons that Ezra Douthglesias said they Must Do & Learn.

No normal person cares about who uses what bathroom. Migrant crime is trounced by the crime of american born citizens. There's no such thing as "post birth abortions." Trans people are not a threat to our society.

I refuse to argue with rightwingers and moderates about the nature of reality.

All shifting to the right does is normalize the deranged, divorced from reality worldview of the republicans. It cannot be stressed enough that the majority of GOP's policy priorities are based on issues that only exist in the Fox News Cinematic universe.
to win elections the democrats need to shift even more right than the republicans. that way they can capture moderates and conservatives. and the left should still vote for the democrats

Hampton brought home a koginut with no plan, so when I saw the below Pin, it seemed perfect to adapt for a stuffing. He prepped everything before a happy hour out, then warmed it with a panko/mimolette/crispy sage topping while I was walking home from ballet 🍽️

Semi-regular reminder that NC—like many other places—is gerrymandered to heck and quite purple, so think before you throw out a “they deserve what they voted for” because most of us didn’t.

*steps off Sunday morning soapbox*
Support for abortion rights are effectively a 60/40 issue in North Carolina. A consistent majority of voters support reproductive freedom, and only a tiny, fringe minority of hardcore anti-choice activists want to ban it.
