I'm voting for Christina McAnea as UNISON's general secretary. I served on the LabourLink committee alongside Angela Rayner for many years, and on Labour's NEC I've seen UNISON's influence in shaping the biggest package of workers' rights in a generation. It's always better to be in the room.

I'd say 5% of those eligible to vote. No arrears and none who joined within eight weeks of the meeting. But better confirm with region ...
Is that 5% of members or members who can attend the nomination meeting (i.e. fully paid up)? We have 259 members so 13, but only 235 with 'accepted' status so 12? You know I'd ask a question! Bob

Urgent deputy leader update: some CLPs told they must have 5% members at nomination meeting. Not required in 2020 nor agreed by procedures cttee. Because GC delegate nominations not allowed, challenging esp for large CLPs esp in person esp at short notice/no warning. One already disqualified.

BREAKING: MPs vote to legalise assisted dying in England and Wales. The #AssistedDyingBill will now proceed to the House of Lords. A landmark victory for compassion, dignity, and choice.

Also Keir Starmer gave up a family holiday in August so he could be here at home dealing with the riots. Not something Boris Johnson would have done.

🙏 Congratulations and thank you to every Labour MP who voted for Proportional Representation today

1. Bit cold of Streeting to see this as about ‘investment’ rather than the dignity of death. I have had several tussles with death myself, I lived, but I have beef with Streetings ill informed comments.

The Labour MP added it's "quite disappointing and quite upsetting" that some Cabinet ministers have vocally opposed it
