Writing double trouble.

I've always read a few books at the same time, the habit that has spread to my writing.

I'm moving between two fictional worlds, both full of mystery, folkloric references and love that can set you on a dangerous path.

Which one would you enter?

I've spent the afternoon plotting out my next writing project - a messy process in my case. I try to be organised but I inevitably end up scribbling on loose pieces of paper.

Moodboard to illustrate some of the ideas contained in those untidy notes. I hope I can coax magic out of this chaos.

THE TERROR x DARK MATTER

Three Scottish teachers visit a Norwegian island. As their host regales them with folktales and plies them with homebrew, a storm builds outside.
Trapped, lies unravel and hidden identities come to light.
In the snow, a monster waits…

My head is buzzing with all the amazing ideas. Thank you everyone who read, liked and reposted my pitches. I'm not much of a social media animal, but I'll be popping in here to follow so many talented writers this event has helped me to connect with. May your stories find homes. #scotwriterpitch2025

When 18-yo Finn moves to Glasgow for art school, he seeks inspiration in neon-lit nights and raves—not in Professor Rowan, whose precise yet soulless art hides a dark past. As Finn pushes artistic limits, their worlds collide, and some truths are more dangerous than they seem.

I love this concept!
On her 30th birthday, a small-time reporter suddenly finds that every time she asks someone a question, they tell her the truth. Excellent news for her career, less so for her personal life. Truth hurts...
