I love fishing; drawing; reading; birdwatching; cats; science; rodeo; Classical, Country and rock; and baseball. I'll take whiskey or beer over wine any day. Nothing against vegans and vegetarians, but I still love my steaks. Anti-MAGA. She/her
Rutherford zoomed out of the house this morning, chasing a neighborhood cat off of "his" porch. Yours truly then got to do a terrific lion-tamer act in the yard, coaxing a pissed-off, hissing orange asshole back into the house with a Winter coat and a snow shovel. #lifewithcats

My dad served in the Army and was a "short-timer" in Vietnam. Thank you for your service, Dad. <3

Had what was probably my last backyard fire 'til Spring last night (I used up all of my brush and firewood!). I love a cold-weather bonfire. :)

Not in the mood for all of the complicated science stuff I've been reading lately. It's a "Adventures of Tom Sawyer" kind of night. :)

Hit my old neighborhood and my childhood favorite fishing spot last night and tonight, just at sunset. It did not disappoint! No BIG fish, but lots of them! Good times.

So, someone published a "field guide" to Mesozoic birds and feathered dinosaurs (I NEED this, btw!). I would love a similar ILLUSTRATED guide to Mesozoic plants. It would be especially helpful to amateur paleoartists like myself, aiming for accuracy in landscape drawings.

Almost 1 am, and people in the neighborhood are revving engines and making a general ruckus. I hate my neighborhood.

I found this in a used tackle box. It is one half of a saltwater fishing lure. However, we have no saltwater in Michigan. Besides, this is too cool to throw at fish! I am going to keep it as an office curiosity. :)

Just a reminder that Columbus was not only an inhuman monster to indigenous people (and, at times, his own); he was incompetent and criminal even in the eyes of European authorities. He also never set foot on any land now part of the U. S. He certainly doesn't deserve a U. S. holiday in his honor.

Although my name has a long Christian history, I just learned that I also share my name with a 7th century Anglo-Saxon king (Not queen!), King Ánna, alternatively spelled Anna or Onna. The things I've learned from watching Time Team! :D

Why in Hell are blood and gore and scenes of horrific cruelty OK on TV but not the naked human body, at least one NOT covered in blood and gore? What tf is this saying about society today? So bummed. I just wanted to watch some cool fantasy, and now I will have nightmares. FML

October folklore includes traditions surrounding the thinning of the veil between the worlds during Halloween and the Celtic festival of Samhain, the importance of the Hunter's Moon, and the symbolism of harvest. Hares are associated with the moon and liminality.
Art my own.

istg everything about our culture and society right now is set up to make us the worst versions of ourselves. it takes so much energy to not be angry and upset and aggressive. they did this to us and they did it on purpose. we don't have to let them get away with that contrived version of humanity

Some advice to fellow anglers: Don't take anything that a conservation officer/game warden OR staff member at a sporting goods store says about fishing or hunting regs as gospel. Many of them either don't have a clear understanding of the law or have a business or personal agenda (more in coments).
