@erictopol.bsky.social I heard your frustration on a recent podcast about shingrix uptake and I share it. I have a great success rate in getting people vaccinated after I tell them about my shingles experience. If you ever want it recorded for use by medical professionals , let me know!

This story encapsulates so much about journalists. And yes, I know it is a recipe for plum torte. (Gift link) cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/3783...

I generally share y’all’s horror at AI glasses, but since I’m also doing my best to outrun my rare genetic eye disease, I will own a pair the first day symptoms show up. (Which may be never!) The verge had a great podcast on this topic recently.

Truly the biggest surprise for me about parenting was the injuries. The toddler smacking my nose with the back of their head while sitting on my lap was my least favorite.
Parenthood “is a sport that you have to be prepared for,” Kola Jegede, a NYU spinal surgeon, told me.

He and others offered tips to minimize injuries from baby lifting, toddler play and other activities that can risk pain.

(Might not save you from a toddler jumping on your head, though)
Guest column | You’re becoming a parent? Prepare to get injured.
Every parent I know has a tale of orthopedic woe — like tweaking her back when trying to carry toddlers or breaking his foot while rushing to a crying child in the night.

I feel like by buying a ticket to F1 I was pretty clear that I didn’t want to see a horror movie right now! But 25 minutes of horror previews sounds great, yeah.

I guess some of you see people saying truly awful things but my feed at its worst is y’all screaming together about em dashes. (Which is boring as hell but whatever.)

One cookbook that I will probably buy is The Cookie Bible by Rose Levy Beranbaum. Mrs Swallow’s perfect lemon cookies were delicious. I argue the paper towel roll bit isn’t necessary - a tiny cookie scoop worked fine.

After the deepest of deep dives on Opportunity Products, I can now confidently say I hope to never use them again. I see their value in some situations, but those situations are ones where I am not the right person for the job.

I went to Three Summers of Lincoln last night. AD said they had been working all day making changes. I left at intermission, but have other performances not had Douglas and Lincoln meet before intermission?

Cashier at Trader Joe’s today told me eggs cause cancer. I pressed him and he said his friend got a specific kind of cancer caused by eggs twice but he couldn’t remember what kind of cancer.

Yup, this is me. Glad y’all are having so much fun and doink sounds silly and fun so you go.
it's gotta be weird if you aren't into football at all but follow people who do. you're just minding your own business, enjoying yourself on social media, and all of a sudden everybody says DOINK at the same time and doesn't bother to explain why

I frequently say to clients, “part of my job is to be your personal trainer for this.”
The way I see it, is NetSuite is like a gym membership—everyone says it’ll change your life, but only if you actually know what you’re doing.

I don’t love the specific questions but the general point of this is spot on - projects don’t succeed or fail on technical skill. The “soft skills” on both sides are what make success possible. www.salesforceben.com/how-to-avoid...

2024 was a big year for me. My biggest fear - the one that had stalked me for decades - came for me in a big way.

I kicked its ass, and that feels pretty great.
