Is there a Bluesky for aging-parent-support or yeah-I-get-it? The country is a dumpster fire, so what a dumb thing to post today, but: my widowed-dad is in the hospital on his 50th wedding anniversary at age 85 and my heart breaks for him. We’ve been here since 11:30 am and now it is 7:30.

This is a bare-minimum comfortable and easy gesture in a left-anchored western MA area on a night I am at one of my jobs. My heart + thoughts are with those who are “rioting” for justice—being what America should be, ideally. Thank you. @jesseduquette.bsky.social , your shirt continues to be a hit.

No one is talking about how April 20th, the alleged date of the Insurrection Act being implemented is also Hitler’s birthday and I can’t quite chalk that up to coincidence (it probably is, but damn).

I think I took this during the 45 years at some point. Seems even more pertinent now.

Well guys, I (sorta) made it. My photograph is in the Italian Rolling Stone. A fun moment as I wind down my photography “career” and turn it back mostly into a hobby as I go back to school for something completely different. 🌱

Crazy to think it’s good my mother isn’t alive to see this. She lived here on a green card. This man was tortured. To be fair, I acknowledge this happens to not-white people of every “legal” status every day. Profoundly effed that we don’t hear about those cases the moment they happen.
A New Hampshire man with a green card was detained by immigration officers at Logan Airport and is being held by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement at the Donald W. Wyatt detention facility in Central Falls, Rhode Island.

Fabian Schmidt’s family said they are unsure of why he is being held. They said he has a recently renewed green card, and no active issues in court.

There is a book from my childhood—maybe East German? About a mayor in a small town who demands everything be the same, so one by one all the houses are painted grey and everything colorful in life disappears. In every ensuing appearance on his balcony to address the townsfolk, he gets larger and 🧵
