Highlight - a 40k walk with the family in the Cairngorms.
Biggest surprise - finding that the pope is a hopeful and progressive force for good right now. As an avowed atheist I found this weirdly inspiring and encouraging. Unity across the spectrum.

I see there’s a post about microplastics going around with a photo of drinking straws, so here is my semi-regular reminder that the 3 biggest sources of microplastics are tires (45%), synthetic clothing particles (35%) and paint (~10%).

(You can’t darn poly because wool and cotton and linen fibers can grab on to each other and form little friction grapples by the nature of their shape, but synthetics are absolutely smooth, so they can only grab oils, which aren’t useful for darning.)

It’s actually not technically a leak. CBS News only operates in the US. A non-PSKY owned network Global TV has Canadian rights for 60 Minutes and aired it unedited since the call to pull the episode was made so late in the day. That broadcast was recorded and then shared across the internet.
