Roman history nerd, especially the late Republic. Currently working on an audio drama about the second triumvirate. Most of the time I'm a musician.
Been reading a lot about the Gracchi lately, so this is a welcome coincidence
"Melvyn Bragg and @BBCInOurTime guests discuss the brothers Ti. and C. Gracchus. As tribunes, they brought popular reforms to the Roman Republic at the end of the C2nd BC. The elites saw the reforms as such a threat that they had the brothers killed."

#Roman Bathhouse - Prestatyn, Wales.

The bath-house was built in about AD 120 and extended in about AD 150. It had a cold plunge-bath at the far end which was fed by a local spring by means of a timber aqueduct. (See Alt.)

Unfortunately for the Romans, high tariffs often led to higher prices, black markets and other economic woes.

Very hype for @jldraycott.bsky.social new book on Fulvia. Great read. Glad to learn more about the women of the Late Republic. And Fulvia is definitely one of the most intriguing figures of the time.
