Just things.

When a political party proposes the death penalty for people listening to things on trains without headphones then I'm all in.

I know two people that have been sectioned, and trust me when I say neither were debatable calls, but have never known anybody as observably insane as Liz Truss.

Wild how GB News can spend years screaming about grooming gangs and demanding total transparency on child sexual abuse…but the moment Trump sits down with them, its all smiles

It doesn't count when it's rich white men, have I got that right?

I understand demanding high standards of the BBC, as a public service that we pay for.

What I don't understand is why so many of the same people are prepared to accept lower standards in media they voluntarily pay for, and not stitch the logic together as to why that's a really stupid position.

When I was a kid there didn't seem much difference between Times or Telegraph readers.

It wasn't my world, or the beliefs I was raised with necessarily, but you respected both when you saw someone reading them.

The Telegraph is now a sewer.

The standard of debate on Facebook.

(Obviously the right-wing one comes with literacy levels so poor that you can almost hear someone breathing through their mouth as you read it.)

'Non-biased media should mean it agrees with every view I have.'

There are people who appear to hold this thought in their head and expect to be taken seriously.

When I was a kid I used to hear older people bemoaning the 'standard of education these days', but then I'm reading barely literate posts by angry grans, granddads, aunties and uncles, being taken in by obvious propaganda, and I'm wondering if they were maybe full of shit back then too?

Facebook comment of the day - took me more* seconds to realise what he meant, than he used** brain cells to write it.

* About 5 seconds.
** Absolute number, not percentage.

Facebook comment of the day, in response to an announcement of a Christmas market in Sheffield.

Obviously, she's wrong (Sheffield is having Christmas lights as always) and her timeline is the expected sewer of racist gran content.

Didn't think it was possible but is she actually less self-aware than Liz Truss?
November 9, 2025 at 8:16 PM
Today I got called a leftie (and blocked) for having the view we should respectfully ask people for their opinion and then listen to their answer.

What the fuck is wrong with people?
November 9, 2025 at 5:19 PM
The problem with our politics is that you need power to do anything and the easiest votes to win are those of people who move their lips when they read and have no idea why their lives aren't what they're sure they should be, apart from it's definitely not their fault.

Well, they forced me off Twitter by turning it into a cesspool of hate and now Facebook is pretty much the same.

Just fucking horrible people, blaming their shitty lives on people with nothing positive to add to the world.

Thank fuck for the small corner of sanity that @bsky.app is.

Years ago on Twitter I took an interest in religion, as a pretty convinced, but open to listening, atheist.

Essentially it seemed that belief in a major religion boiled down to being a member of a cult, just with history adding respectability to the way society viewed this behaviour.

The flag shaggers using the words of an old war veteran to rile up the knuckle draggers makes me physically fucking sick.
November 8, 2025 at 10:02 AM
Fucking hell, we seem to have reached the point where people are openly happy to question 'would things have been that bad under Nazi rule though'.

When the fuck did that become acceptable behaviour in the minds of some seriously uneducated halfwits?
November 7, 2025 at 3:12 PM
Can't even get into the heads of Reform trolls on social media who give themselves micro erections believing they're upsetting people who are mostly just staggered at how monumentally fucking ignorant they are.

What is wrong with their lives that they need to see that behaviour as "winning".
November 6, 2025 at 1:50 PM
Just my regular scream into the BlueSky ether that Reform voters are absolutely thick as fuck.

They definitely know better than everyone else, but struggle to form basic sentences.
November 3, 2025 at 6:37 PM
There thing with Tories was I always understood their reasons and arguments for the way they voted. I could debate it and we could understand each other.

How do you argue against, or compromise with "Reform for the win. Farage lives rent free in your head. You're so triggered lol"?
November 2, 2025 at 2:27 PM
ITV now having to lock comments on a Facebook post because it's flooded with racism the moment they post otherwise.

Social media really has enabled the pub bores and NF supporters of the 80s to find each other and spew their bile into society hasn't it.
