Most people see a product as a collection of features. This is a helpful mindset when it comes to production, but it’s an unhelpful mindset when looking for product-market fit. Instead you need to see your prod as a set of capabilities it’s able to deliver.

It’s a strange strange world when old Tories start becoming the most reasonable people in the conversation.
SUPERB and angrily unvarnished response, by former BBC chairman, Lord Patten.

"I don't think that we should allow ourselves to be bullied into thinking that the BBC is only any good, if it reflects the prejudice of the last person who shouted at it." ~AA

If you had ordered a shot of Yamazaki 12 in a bar in tokyo 15 years ago, it would have been considered an entry level whisky and would have cost €5. I‘m currently at a bar in Lisbon and it’s on the menu for €90.

It always surprised me how many people are drinking at 9:30am at the airport. It’s like the holiday hasn’t really started until your buzzed.

I can’t think of anything worse than trying to navigate a brightly lit airport, dealing with passport control and figuring out transfers while mildly drunk.

Imagine the world we could have had if Sinclair beat Musk to a commercially viable electric vehicle 35 years in advance.
Good morning 😊

Yes, Sir Clive hated that the Spectrum was popular because of the games and a C5 could never go this fast, but I had a lot of fun making this tribute to Sir Clive Sinclair ZX Spectrum 👍

Somebody just asked to see my portolio.

I explained the bulk was in an S&P500 ETF, with the rest spread between Europe, Asia and the bond market.

Suffice to say i didn’t get the job,

I know i’m late to the party but The Penguin is bloody good.

A lot of people may avoid it thinkings it’s a silly super hero movie, but it’s not.

Instead it’s a super well acted, and super dark, crime boss drama.

Highly recommend.

One of the things I love about @beyondtellerrand.com, apart from the slick looking site, is how it's one of the few web conferences left that attracts designer, developers and product managers from across the board, rather than a super siloed niche.

Designers often talk about wanting to “get into strategy.”

But where do those strategy-only jobs actually live?

In most cases it's in our imagination.

medium.com/the-design-c...
So you want to be a strategist? I’m not sure it means what you think it means!
I meet a lot of designers who say something like, “I’m okay at UI design, but what I really want to be doing is strategy.”

They say AI will replace the web as we know it, and this time they mean it. Here follows a short list of previous times they also meant it, starting way back in 1997. Wired: March 1, 1997: “You can kiss your web browser goodbye” – Kevin Kelly and Gary Wolf, The Big Story. 1Inspired by the success of PointCast, a clever application that displayed news headlines as a screensaver, our "Push!" story argued that Web browsers were about to become obsolete.

I genuinely don’t understand the mentality of people having speakerphone conversations in a public place (train, hotel, airport longe). Haven’t people heard of headphones?

So here’s the scene. I’m finishing up breakfast in a NY diner. An older white guy who looks like a grizzled detective and a 14 year latinx girl come in and sit a few tables away from us. I assume its a parent daughter breakfast so think nothing of it. Until I overhear their conversation.
