@pineynz.bsky.social would love to discuss your takes re the Nix on the Football Fever podcast. Everything from Burgess possibly conflating offsides to chances for the Jets, comparing injuries at AFC to that at the Nix(when the severity is nowhere similar)to even what's on offer around the concourse

Good article, just wondering on your use of "exploration ban" when there are still active offshore permits (22 at the time of stopping issuing new permits) that some/all run to at least 2030. I feel the term "ban" frames the issue differently and is not entirely accurate.

I worry for Obsidian due to Microsoft's desire for its gaming part of the business to have a 30% profit margin and the pressure it will put on them.

Would be interesting to hear from Josh Sawyer, his experience with GamePass and if his opinions have changed over time since the release of Pentiment.

Pentiment wouldn't have been possible without Game Pass, says Obsidian's Josh Sawyer
Obsidian's Josh Sawyer has said Pentiment never would have been made without Game Pass.

This is Nat/Act branding, "we're the sensible ones on spending, the economic literate ones," that does permeate in the public if you look at polling on whose best on issues and possibly implicit bias among media.

NZ’s economy is not underperforming by accident
Opinion from Auckland University: The findings of a new IMF report suggest NZ is not just underperforming, but actively backing the wrong kinds of growth.

Those complications somewhat narrow your options, what were the financial considerations - reporting at the time said demolition would be $243m (which seems crazy expensive - maybe use same contractors as WW).

Town Hall? I thought that they can't knock it down due to heritage status (who knows if that would be easily removed given they tried to remove heritage status from other buildings when doing the dp and unable) and not within current resource consent to mothball or leave as is due to building act

Will still be a dog pile on TW, she will get blamed for things not really in her control (Town Hall and lack of use of debt not available to WCC at the time of LTP), as well as the Reading deal, airport shares, 3 waters (despite increased funding) and golden mile (even though she saved nzta funding)

Those trying to understand the tariffs as economic policy are dangerously naive.

No, the tariffs are a tool to collapse our democracy. A means to compel loyalty from every business that will need to petition Trump for relief.
