Good article, just wondering on your use of "exploration ban" when there are still active offshore permits (22 at the time of stopping issuing new permits) that some/all run to at least 2030. I feel the term "ban" frames the issue differently and is not entirely accurate.

I worry for Obsidian due to Microsoft's desire for its gaming part of the business to have a 30% profit margin and the pressure it will put on them.

Those complications somewhat narrow your options, what were the financial considerations - reporting at the time said demolition would be $243m (which seems crazy expensive - maybe use same contractors as WW).

Town Hall? I thought that they can't knock it down due to heritage status (who knows if that would be easily removed given they tried to remove heritage status from other buildings when doing the dp and unable) and not within current resource consent to mothball or leave as is due to building act

Will still be a dog pile on TW, she will get blamed for things not really in her control (Town Hall and lack of use of debt not available to WCC at the time of LTP), as well as the Reading deal, airport shares, 3 waters (despite increased funding) and golden mile (even though she saved nzta funding)
