If you know what I mean (& I think you do), please contact me because it is increasingly clear I do not (he/him/himself/his/hizzoner)
I do sudoku while on my exercise bike.

Probably all the Ace Attorney games put together.

I've probably put over 100 hours into Space Quest IV but 500 is probably a stretch.
Name a videogame you've put 500 hours into.

I will constrain myself to already dead people to avoid allegations of death threats

Gonna be a weird one: Boris Yeltsin, 1995, before the second election campaign, before Putin joined the cabinet.

It would fuck a lot of things but we would definitely be in a different America today.
You have a Time Machine. Your mission is to save America. You can only do this once, and it has to be done after the date of your birth (to make sure you don’t get butterfly effect’d, etc). In this HYPOTHETICAL THOUGHT EXPERIMENT ABOUT SOMETHING INPOSSIBLE who do you kill, and when?
If I a Time Machine existed (which it doesn’t making this post unambiguously speculative and hypothetical) the highest profile individuals to knock off to preserve American democracy probably Murdoch, Gingrich, Koch’s, and Zuckerberg.

During the early days of COVID I was looking at the growth of cases, which seemed to be growing exponentially, but if you looked at them on a log scale, something weord happened: the graph was still curved up. COVID cases were super-exponential

But computer processing power is going the other way.

On the other hand, I deliberately made no friends in high school so that I could cast off that shitburg (State College, PA) as soon as I graduated.
watching John Green talk about his buddy from high school who is still his friend and I’m curious, is that common for people on here?

I remember seeing Clue (1985) in theaters.

Thinking back, I'm pretty sure that's right. I only ever saw Clue once, & that would have had to be in theaters because we didn't get a VCR until the mid-90s & I don't think we would have rented something that old.

I should really re-watch Clue.
Have asked this before and always like the responses. What are your biggest “I saw that in the first run cinema” flexes? Couple of mine:

Transformers: The Movie (1986)
Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (1993)
Office Space (1999)

Just woke up from a nap which apparently took place in a universe where Billy Joel wrote The Final Countdown except the lyrics in that universe are "BABY IT'S THE NYLON CURRRRRTAINNNNN"

It took me several minutes & two song apps to remember who actually wrote it in this universe.

I was a registered Libertarian at the time. I saw how the Libertarian Party was embracing Donnie & wound up leaving the party in 2022 when it became clear the rot was intractible.

It's fucking rich to have Libertarians tell you the party was trying to warn you when it very much was not.
Weird. I tried to warn libertarians about Trump

The system breaks when you fight against it and force its contradictions into the open, not because you decide to hold back and do their work for them.
