This really dampens my anticipation of GTA6. Not sure, I'll be able to enjoy the game once it's out knowing how Rockstar Games apparently treats its staff.

Oh how terrible, I can see why renewables are so unpopular...
Australia has so much electricity from solar power that it is going to start offering free electricity to everyone for at least three hours during the day as the wholesale price of power goes negative

Australia's extensive solar power penetration makes so much energy that the government wants to offer free electricity at peak hours.

Every year, when I deliver my first-year lecture on nationalism in modern Europe, I refer to the "classic" primoridorialist vs structuralist concepts of nationhood. I guess I have yet another example for the rather blunt primordialist "blood and soil" type of nationalism.

Perfect metaphor for LLMs, etc... Let's spend more trillions to create more stuff like this. In the best case, robo-vids will replace cat videos to fill up spare internet and social media space.

This happens when people have no historical hinterland. This is nothing new, but the essence of modern political movements. Someone should tell them about political "milieus" and "politics as a lifestyle", both of which were defining features of Western politics since at least the late 18th century.

Wow! Who would have thought that being likeable and relateable are key assets for politicians in democracies. Someone should tell the Labour Party!
Charisma.
Not rocket science, a dirty word, or a fart at a genteel dinner party. A vessel in which less base ideals can be communicated to the heart. Present at every piece of progress ever made by society. Politics, like all human drama, is laden with theory, but realised in the heart and gut.

This is less a story about migration, but about the diminishing capacity of the British state for competent governance. The historic root cause is a combination of austerity and the systematic dismantling of sovereign state functions since Thatcher.
As reported previously, more than five people a week are being let out of British prisons "accidentally", which is a grotesque systemic failure thanks to over a decade of Tory underfunding & mismanagement.
But folks are only interested in the racism...
