Planting a story on an attempted attack by Ukraine on the Turkstream gas pipeline has at least 3 advantages for Russia:
1. It drives up the gas price
2. It makes Europe feel more dependent on Russia.
3. It makes Ukraine look bad towards EU member states dependent on Turkstream.
Call me sceptical.

Veel Nederlanders willen heel begrijpelijk een snel einde aan de oorlog, maar hebben geen oog voor de gevolgen daarvan, schrijft Rob de Wijk. Want als Poetin een snel staakt-het-vuren als adempauze ziet om zijn economie te redden en vervolgens de strijd weer op te pakken, wordt 2025 een rampjaar.
Een overhaaste vrede zou Poetin goed uitkomen
