He/Him. Public High School English Teacher. Advocate for youth and child safety in church and schools - physical/educational/spiritual. Also, I read comic books.
I gave up Disney and Hulu before it was cool. Now I am an NPR+ and PBS Passport member!
I pay $16.99 for Hulu, Disney+, and Max with ads. I don’t watch that much. That money should probably go to NPR. If you see me rocking a tote bag…

I started teaching during the 1998-1999 school year. April of 1999 was the Columbine massacre. I have spent more hours in professional development on the topic of school safety than on any other topic in my entire career. Nothing is working. In 27 years, there is only one strategy we haven’t tried…

I’m not going to be in church on Sunday. During the school shooting in Minneapolis, my colleagues and I were in a scheduled school safety meeting where we learned how we can initiate a school safety alert through an app on our phone. I am tired of hearing empty thoughts and prayers.

I am spiritually and emotionally exhausted. I can’t comprehend the silence of so many who are betraying principle for power in a way that will destroy their legacy. It makes me examine my own heart. How can we stand against hatred without allowing our integrity to become a casualty?

The Washington Post is no longer posting Chess ratings or Pokémon Battle standings on their sports page, a decision welcomed by the NFL trying to limit the loss of fans to intellectual, brain-based competitive games.
Costco will not dispense a key abortion pill at its pharmacies, a long-awaited win for conservatives trying to limit access to medication abortion.

The company’s decision not to sell the pill is a victory for antiabortion advocates — but a narrow one.

The grocery giant was pressured by antiabortion groups not to carry mifepristone as medication abortion gains popularity in the U.S.

The same Supreme Court and Republican legislators who are supporting Trump’s executive orders that benefit the rich, also blocked Joe Biden’s executive order to forgive student loans.

With the Hulkster gone, I think it is safe to say we can release the Epstein files without implicating any living person influential in the MAGA culture.

I’ve been on the phone with MOHELA so long that my kids grew up and Hulk Hogan died. They are going to lift the forbearance that I didn’t ask for in 60 days. They acknowledge that it will extent my PSLF plan, but it is really the government’s fault. They told me to tell you “hi.”

One day. That’s the slap in the face the DOJ is calling “accountability” in Breonna Taylor’s case.

Now they want to act like civil rights charges were too much? Please be for real.

If you’re wondering how little they value Black lives—look no further.
DOJ seeks one-day sentence for officer in raid that killed Breonna Taylor
In November, a federal jury found officer Brett Hankison guilty of violating Taylor’s civil rights during a March 2020 police raid in which she was fatally shot.

I’m driving to visit my mom in KC. Heading south through Iowa on I-35, we were cut off by a large white construction pick up with MO plates & the name “Herzog” on it. When we passed, the driver gave an arrogant smile. It was odd until I googled Herzog & their impact on MO, then it made sense. Wild…

Yes. We need super men and women. In congress, in the judiciary, in the press, in schools… kind, humble heroes. Hope pushing against fear.

Great news! The Wisconsin Supreme Court finally struck down an 1849 law that stripped women's rights through a near-total abortion ban.

This move protects women's access to medical care and their right to control what happens to their own bodies.

Maybe if you think Hiroshima and Nagasaki are our finest moments, you shouldn’t be in charge of the deadliest arsenal in the world.
Trump on his strikes of Iran: "I don't want to use an example of Hiroshima. I don't want to use an example of Nagasaki, but that was essentially the same thing. That ended that war, this ended the war."

I just watched Surviving Ohio State. As a former coach and current teacher, I find it disgusting. Ohio State needs to be fined and sanctioned. Russ Hellickson and Jim Jordan are cowards.
