Huge update to the {pastum} VS Code extension — you can now control the decimal separator (point or comma). Paste as default dataframe is now sensitive to the editor language, so you can easily paste in your favorite format with just one click. See some showcases below.

100 stars🎉 Savvy is a niche framework for those who want to use Rust in an R package yet extendr is not their fit, so I didn't expect to see so much stars!

Happy to announce ✨quarto-revealjs-editable✨

This fully supersedes the imagemover extension, as I back then didn't realize the potential. You can now also move, resize, change font size and alignment for text in your slides

Has anybody come up with a solution to this problem: you have a perfectly reproducible analysis pipeline that produces beautiful dynamic reports. But once you bring on even one collaborator things immediately devolve into email-attached word documents named manuscript_finalFinal_2.docx #rstats

Which language serves as the geospatial lingua franca — #pythonor #rstats? A quick look at Google Trends suggests R, but that’s a rather simplistic comparison. Has anyone come across a more in-depth study on the most popular languages for spatial analysis?

I know I'm biased, but maaaan, Formalist and Air work so well together in the latest Positron update.

Dear #rstats, you should give Positron a try.

It still bugs me that nrow() in #RStats is called nrow() and not nrows(). I type it wrong every time.

To all new {wbw} users, please note that the package is still under active development, with only about 7% of the planned features currently implemented 🐢💨
Introducing {wbw}, a new geospatial powerhouse in the R ecosystem by Anatolii Tsyplenkov! 🌍⚡

{wbw} provides a fast & powerful library for hydrology, geomorphometry, remote sensing, and more (raster, vector, LiDAR).

Consider this: to slow down #AI development, the community could deliberately mislabel correct answers as incorrect. By doing so, the false positive rate would rise, confusing the #LLM and disrupting its learning process. 🤖🤔

A couple of years ago, I saw this life hack on Twitter and cannot commend the unknown author enough. This is the best use of pop sockets! Very handy for reading kindle on the go

a lazy organizational tip for data analysts and researchers:

create a single directory that holds all the exploratory or one-off scripts that don't yet have a proper home

mine is called misc_R

once a year (like today!) I satisfyingly shove the prior year's files into a subdirectory

Fellow #rstats users working on WSL, has anyone successfully run Positron from a nix-shell? I’m struggling to configure a custom path to the R binaries when loading from the nix-shell. A more detailed question can be found here github.com/ropensci/rix...

@brodriguesco.bsky.social ,any thoughts?

I just realized there’s no emoji to represent data frames, databases, or even spreadsheets! What do you typically use #rstats #databs ?
Here are my favorites so far:
• 🗄️ this cabinet reminds me of data storage
• 🗓️ if you squint, it might resemble a spreadsheet with all its cells
• 📊⚾️ data base?

Ditching code autocompletion feels so freaking good 🍹. It was an illusion to think it actually speeds up #rstats code writing.

For the past month, my workflow has been opening the same project in Positron and Cursor. If I get stuck, I start chatting with an LLM in Cursor.

🎉 New in Formalist for Positron IDE: Fix lints in #rstats code on demand!

Select your code, hit a button, and let {flint} by @etiennebacher.bsky.social handle the rest.

🚀 Works on selected text only

Day 2 of porting my favorite RStudio addons to Positron. Introducing Formalist, an extension that allows you to make R function calls explicit, i.e., from select(mtcars, cyl) → dplyr::select(mtcars, cyl). It uses {pedant} #rstats 📦 by @wurli in the background!
