You know, I put effort into sounding coherent and like I have a general grasp on the societal norms of conversational etiquette when sending an email, even to people that I am more casual with.

But maybe I should try less.

A lot of times I'll start drafting an email to a friend, struggle for a few hours to communicate my precise inner thoughts, and finally give up in despair at being unable to formulate something so specific in acceptable words.

yeah... Maybe I should just email my friends. 🤔😬

I love marginalia b/c you can see what other people were excited about when they were reading the same book. Sometimes pretty funny.

There HAS to be a better solution than Quickbooks for small/medium churches (and other orgs w/ similar needs)
- they don't need 70% of what's available & the interface is overwhelming for non-accountants
- they have some very specific things they do want to do that QB does terribly if at all

If somebody gets turned into a pillar of salt (possibly thousands of years ago) and then you use that exact salt to season your food, is that cannibalism?

Forget bronze -> silver -> gold data architecture, I've got stubble -> hay -> wood -> precious stones -> silver -> gold in my data lake.

(it's already on fire, obviously)

Imagine being a vampire AND a hoarder.

"Welcome to my haunted castle. Yes, I have an entire crypt full of empty pickle jars - they might come in handy. Actually, these ones in the back are technically amphorae. You can't even get those at the grocery store these days!"

I regularly use bouba and kiki as adjectives these days and my husband / friends just gotta put up with it. :P
My sister really gets me.

[I’m currently] imagining Don Carson and Origen discussing how to properly exegete Psalm 137. That would be a podcast worth listening to.

Today I feel the tension.

Caught between a progressivism that contests several of my foundational beliefs as a Christ follower, and a populism that seeks to commodify and prostitute those same beliefs for grotesque ends.

But today I embrace the tension.

Witness is more important than winning.

TWICE in the last week I've tried to track down a footnote source and found the pdf available on archive.org but only in Latin (and apparently no translation exists anywhere). I don't particularly care to learn Latin but apparently Latin wants me 😬
