The SR VP, who is my immediate boss, called a round-up meeting after he left and put it into perspective for us and it was much more helpful to help us reframe the situation better. We're gonna be fine. We continue to do our work but we have more $ to do it with. And if we have ideas, he'll listen.
New CEO is in for a visit. Except he's talking like he is not actually responsible for our day-to-day operations. He's essentially the CEO of the company that's financing us. Sounds like it's *our* job to sell/market/partner our work. So 🤷🏼

The whirring/buzzing of the camera drones is hyper noticable at this Olympics. I don't remember this level of obtrusiveness in the last summer Olympics. Seeing the drone flying over the freestyle snow board guys, I wonder if they're distracting at all.

I regularly see people wondering how it's possible that there are so many musicians and writers and film makers and artists from a tiny nation like Iceland.
And the answer is really simple: State funding for art education and artists. I literally get a salary from the government to write books.

I’m constantly astounded at the sheer level of artistic production coming out of Iceland. Novels, movies, music. Amazing.

See my REM sleep from 6:56 to 7:09? I was dreaming about a pair of shoes that had an alarm on them. They kept beeping and I couldn't turn them off. I took them to the store and they were trying to fix them. Then I realized that my actual alarm set for 7:05 had been beeping for 4 minutes...

You guys, I'm getting a new car! Drove it tonight, it's great. Will probably arrange to bring it home on Monday. I'm planning on taking off for my birthday anyway. It's 13 years old but it's so clean. It came from Virginia so living in a no-salt environment helps a lot.

I keep thinking about this. Why can't states require any data centers proposed to install solar panels on their roofs to supply some of the energy they will be sucking up? At least offset their environmental effects a little bit?
