When the PCs have been in charge for the better part of a decade, they need to stop blaming the last government.

I liked it better when you were a parody account.

What's frustrating is that you didn't change, reality just decided to become a parody of itself.

Mahmoud Khalil should be at home with his pregnant wife.

Instead, he's been illegally abducted & had his constitutional right to free speech & due process stripped.

We're demanding his immediate release and we cannot allow this abuse of power to go unchecked. #FreeMahmoudKhalil

It's been a good sign of how much they keep the effort up even if the underlying numbers aren't great.

After too many years of losing games we should have won, we're seeing games that we probably shouldn't be close in, falling our way.

Single stair buildings are not only the best way to get lots of family friendly housing and protect green space, they are just as safe in a fire as dual exit buildings (and thus should be legalized, everywhere).

What's Up With That: Building Bigger Roads Actually Makes Traffic Worse
The concept is called induced demand, which is economist-speak for when increasing the supply of something (like roads) makes people want that thing even more. Though some traffic engineers made note ...

The Trump administration is attacking the judiciary because they’re carrying out an executive coup. Because they don’t want to be restrained by the law. Because Trump is an autocrat.

When given the option, be like Paris, a global city’s capital of a G7 country, adapting and leading with a design for people focus. Be amazing. Be Paris.
ā€œOn the streets of Paris, thousands of trees are being planted, the city’s distinctive grey zinc rooftops are getting a makeover and workers are installing drinking fountains that release a cooling mist.

The changes are part of the French capital’s fight against heatwaves.ā€

I really wish Ottawa would take notes. Even poorly copied notes would be a massive improvement.

Yeah, I was thinking the same. Because right now it seems that research is either gov't funded or privately (aka corporately/for-profit) funded, and government SHOULD be more predictable, but it's along the same lines as having a non-partisan professional civil service.

The more I see people saying this or that action in the US is a distraction from the fact that they aren't lowering grocery prices, the more convinced I am that that is backwards.

People angry at the grocery prices aren't focused on the fact that they've lost control of their country.

You know which Canadian has done nothing useful to support Canada during Trump’s trade war crisis?

Pierre Poilievre.

Not surprising considering his record supporting Trump, MAGA & the extremist Trucker convoy, attacks on media, connection to Stephen Harper, and refusal to get a security clearance.

So I just heard a DoFo ad on the radio for his totally unnecessary $189M election, saying, I kid you not, that "when Ottawa descended into chaos, he stood up for us." I expect a bit of exaggeration in a campaign but this is absolutely a bald-faced lie that couldn't be further from the truth. #onpoli

Yep, gives everyone a month to make preparations at the very least.

And if you're a Canadian business who imports or exports, I'd suggest looking for new trading partners that may be more stable.

*whispers to the Canadian government* you know, we wouldn't need to buy as many American airplanes if we invested in high speed rail...

I mean, the TGV shone and became a success in part due to the oil crisis making every other mode of high speed transportation unviable

So while the tariffs have been delayed, this is still a very strong message that any Canadian business, export promoter or politician should be working on developing a broader export market rather than relying on one market who has shown us (TWICE) how unreliable it is.

I feel like regardless of your opinion of Trudeau, if the PM who has announced he's resigning can lead in this manner, you absolutely need to call bullshit on Ford's "I need a strong mandate" bald-faced power grab.
