'Official' game preservation efforts are good and should be encouraged when they happen. But that's still relying on corporations and the absurdly rich to care about the history of art and the medium. For the most part, that's not going to happen.

trying to explain to people that modern story driven gacha games can employ very skilled and experienced writers (not just of games or visual novels but of books and television and so on) and also deliberately restrict their capabilities by the needs of the game systems (this isn't good)
