I am feeling stuck and overwhelmed in many ways and for many reasons right now but the medicine makes everything worse.

Missing a single dose of venlafaxine sends me into a worse mental state than not being on it at all would.
I wish i could come off it. I did it once before i got cancer but then they made me take tamoxifen for 5 years (known to cause depression) and my then relationship ended so was suicidal.

When I told my now former doc that I wanted to stop venlafaxine he told me that for some people it isn't possible. He didn't tell me it five years earlier when he put me on it. Why? Had he had decided on my behalf that I was going to be on the drug for the rest of my life?

Stay away from Effexor/Venlafaxine if you can. You will feel agony and misery when you try to taper off of it. Lowered my dose again and I feel incredibly miserable. Joint pain, more overly sensitive/emotional, nausea, dizziness, and my false awakening dreams are getting more traumatic. Im so tired.

PSA: Venlafaxine (Effexor) withdrawals are worse than ANY drug withdrawal I've ever experienced. Legal or illegal. If somebody prescribes you this shit, ask about an alternative.

Yep. Venlafaxine ruins me when I miss it. Senses get heightened unpleasantly and I can't think calmly. Spent most of the last 22 years on it because the withdrawal effects or long term damage are so weird I can't use anything else
