Perhaps it’s time to stop accepting into politics people who are “quite dodgy but useful” and accept that a good character is actually quite important if you’re a public servant?

A timely reminder if anyone’s TBR pile is dwindling……
You should never let your TBR pile fully deplete before buying more books.

Do they understand how mad they sound? As if anyone has ever decided to cross the Channel in a small boat because, if they make it, they might get to take a free taxi to a doctor's appointment?

"Pull factors" on steroids.

Together and US in the same sentence?
Good news: Europe, Japan, and the US will work with others on collective resilience through a plurilateral trade initiative on critical minerals.

Together, we will build strong and diversified supply chains to secure the materials needed to power our economies.

It will never not be annoying that my child is on the brink of leaving for secondary school only to get a msg that the first lesson has been canceled.

Still watching the football and, dare I say, it’s actually been entertaining. We have a baller on our hands with Mfuni!
Despite everything am skipping Klem/The Blood Pact this evening to tune in and watch the ‘Orns in Hull. I may regret it. And I may end up watching a little of both. #WatfordFC

I’m working on a story for @thesicktimes.org about things people with Long Covid and other energy-limiting illnesses (as well as their caregivers) can do to protect themselves and their communities from ICE. I’d love to speak with any of the following:

Genuinely laughing at the thought of this.
Feel like the only highlight we’ll have for the rest of the season is listening to Derek Payne attempt to pronounce ‘Goglichidze’. #WatfordFC

Studied in Toulouse for a year as part of my degree. It’s a while ago now so it would be lovely to go back and rediscover the city so many years later.
Toulouse is a city in southern France that’s absolutely worth visiting. I particularly love its colourful streets and beautiful riverside setting, and there’s a lively culinary scene as well. Check out my Toulouse guide: velvetescape.com/things-to-se...

Confronting clear up of home office. Blog and writing goal setting and results. Stopped abruptly Feb 2020. Covid hit, followed by #longcovid. Since then goal setting has mostly involved getting through days being able to keep the bare minimum of daily life running.
