I really hate the met offices new look. I keep switching it back to the old style but it does not remember. Why do websites keep changing something that worked just fine as it was.

Can we please stop calling things a tragedy when we really mean atrocity? Yours in Classics …

(FWIW, I think calling these events atrocities actually articulates that there is a crime being committed. By which I mean murder or mass murder.)

Been trying this thing where if I can't tell a headline is real or satire, I take a quick walk, and if I still can't tell, I go take a nap, so I'm still confused about everything everywhere but at least I'm rested and have gotten some light exercise.

Can anyone help with a copy of TVAS Monograph 19, North Bersted warrior? There's a partially version on Researchgate but not the pages I want to read. Don't really want to pay £23 and wait 5+ days to find out there's nothing relevant to my topic in there 😒

Xtreem-ly cold off-road bicycle adventure yesterday afternoon to a couple of local Bronze Age barrows.
I'd planned this for New Year's Eve but wasn't well enough.
It was a glorious ride but freezing and I traded actual sunset for getting back before dark and frozen tracks.

11:44 Something strange is going on: dogs have been barking intermittently up and down the village for the last couple of hours, and now I've just heard a corvid outburst. Perhaps the Wild Hunt is abroad?
I want to go to sleep!

On this last day of 2025 I have mostly been feeling poorly. It will pass.
Resolutions for 2026: be appreciative of the amazing things which can happen if you are open to opportunity; be kind, including to yourself; start work on assessments sooner 🤷‍♀️🥂🎆
