I normally hate LinkedIn, and have seriously been thinking about deactivating my account. But I jumped on it today, and saw this interesting post from the CEO of the New Humanitarian @tammam.bsky.social about the failure of western journalism today. An excellent read.

Ok I didn't know this until now and yet somehow it doesn't surprise me in the least
Whilst we're on the subject of shocking living things, did you know police departments routinely shock human beings with tasers until they die and chalk up their deaths to a fake medical condition they call "excited delirium" that was invented by taser companies to absolve themselves of liability?

I was at Sprüngli in Zurich this morning for a hot chocolate. A dark skinned woman came in and asked for a table. She was told to wait. A white lady came in just after and was seated immediately. And honestly, the hot chocolate wasn't even that good. Definitely taking my money elsewhere from now on

I had read that if someone at a store like Sephora gives you a basket it's profiling. I thought it was just a US thing but I just went into Claire's in Zurich & the woman accosted me with a basket. She followed me around & didn't stop until I left. There were many others in the store, all ignored.
