YA Dystopia presents a teen's nightmare as "the" nightmare. "You mean it's gonna be like school forever?" Not much of a nightmare compared to, say, the Holocaust, and maybe I am childish because I hold onto my childhood trauma, but K-12 really were the peak years of my living nightmare.

It's hard for good people to admit that what Trump has is a form of intelligence. It's psychopathy, the ability to shed or disregard 99% of what makes one human in furtherance of a selfish goal. The ability to marshall mental and physical resources to one's own will is intelligence manifest.

People have been using AI for decades. CG, FX, and game artists use it every day, for everything, and do independent research into new tools all the time. But now, suddenly, "AI" means "letting a computer do the creative work" and NOBODY can ever use AI? It's fucking crazy and stupid. I refuse.

Today @councilorgreen.bsky.social and I sent a letter to Mayor Wilson urging the Executive Branch to use their administrative powers to protect Portlanders from the Federal Government. City council can pass policy but that policy is only as effective as the Executive Branch is willing to execute it.

One of the worst parts of AI image generators, the way it goes when you don't have any original structure or style images, and you don't iterate with changes you make yourself, is that you have no idea who the AI is imitating or plagiarizing. Art can do both those things, but not without intention.
