Thinking of how popular it was to sneer about how the Ice Bucket thing like 10 years ago didn't make any difference and then it turned out the money it raised led to the biggest breakthrough for ALS research in years

I’ve been deep diving into old texts and emails and stuff thinking about my pal and have discovered that I have hosted an absurd number of parties where the only food I served was hot dogs

Also remember this and have a laugh. I think it was Dan’s favorite thing that ever happened.

Dan was one of two of my first ever Work Friends* and then he became my Regular Life Friend and I’m devastated but also so lucky to know him.
When a friend dies who is Famous On The Internet that means hundreds of strangers sharing his best bits! (Dan was also a kind, generous person and writer of non-bits)

If you didn’t know him, you missed out!!!!!! but please enjoy experiencing the bits of @dhm.bsky.social for the first time now.

The only thing I miss about Twitter is that it was a very easy way to interact publicly with institutions and businesses when you had a complaint

Truly what is wrong with drivers. Three (!!!) cars *slowly* drove through a stop sign while I was at the corner trying to cross with my kids and the 3rd driver made eye contact with me, and held up a finger to be like “one minute” as she did it

It’s a bummer that basically every kids cartoons, even the good ones, have replaced most instances of text (on books or signs or what have you) with gibberish or scribbles so they don’t have to edit it when they change the dub. It makes written language seem like nonsense and also it looks terrible.

parenting is mainly about trying to sell your kids on outright lies like “eating Nerds before breakfast is a bad idea, buddy”

I would like for national political reporters to place a moratorium on “But what will voters in the rest of America think about New York City’s socialist mayor?” We don’t care! Red states are notably full of psycho politicians yet rarely do you see pundits asking Brooklyn people about them.
