On a ferry to Rotterdam from Hull. The trip is to go to the world's biggest record fair.

Ferry life is absolutely mad.

He's the weakest candidate on the entire ballot, but we've got historians (albeit non UK ones) voting for him.

I can't understand it.
Woah now Cheapshot, leave Adrian Street out of this! Imagine what he would do to you.

If you'd like to be part of the #BigDaddyHoF2030 campaign team please let me know. I'll be looking to start conversations early 2026.

Back on the ballot. He fell off due to the 15/50 rule and bullshit propaganda.

What if I told you I have a hugely famous wrestler who supports the case. I'm working on getting them to publicly advocate for Big Daddy to be brought back on the ballot.
Get him on the ballot and I will gladly vote for him!

I'm going to get a Big Daddy Battle Bus. (The Lex Express but cooler) and travel around the provincial towns in the UK, stand in the high street and ask folks the same question. "Name a famous wrestler"

25 years after his death, 40 years after his peak.

They'll say Daddy, followed by Haystacks.

At his peak, Big Daddy wasn’t just a wrestler. He was one of the most recognisable faces in Britain, more people could identify him than could name the Prime Minister. 🧵
I'm going to start to build the most watertight case to get Big Daddy another shot on the Observer Hall Of Fame ballot.

The idea is to write my finest ever written piece for my substack, then a series of podcasts with different guests explaining why for them he should be back on the ballot.

Well done to VOW for their observer hall of fame coverage in 2025.

Based on the tracker, a ton of folks I voted for could go in.

Now we wait for the pros and ex pros to ruin it with their mental votes.
The 2025 WON HOF Public Ballot Tracker is now up to 51 public ballots as 6 more ballots were added.

Thank god for the Snowy White guitar solo in Richard Wright's wonderful Summer Elegy from his 1978 masterpiece, Wet Dream. One of my favourite guitar solos ever.

Early in Harley Race's career he wrestled as Jack Long for Nick Gulas & Roy Welch in Tennessee.

Here's Jack Long (Harley Race) & Johnny Long in 1963 when Harley was 20.

I just listened to Flammende Herzen (song) for the first time by Michael Rother.

Excellent track, I'm really enjoying this dive I'm doing into Krautrock assortedness.
