there was already an algorithm at work everywhere; it's called social bias (includes racial bias, gender bias, status bias, profession bias, etc.). So when people think there's no algorithm here, this is what I think of.

I want to pause here and acknowledge the colossal and accelerating contribution that Chinese researchers are making in the fields of climate and sustainability. This is chronically overlooked in the Anglosphere. Easily half of the most significant papers I've read recently were by Chinese authors.

Can some American please explain to me (genuine question) what "undocumented" even means when the person in question pays taxes and has a SSN for working and a driver's licence for driving there? I mean, .... seriously. From everything I've read it has no identifiable meaning.

These are polarized times, but we can't cede the idea of "government efficiency" to the cynical right. What would efficiency that really helps people look like?

Not a political commentator, but just speaking human to human based on events I've followed the first time around-- all of these "appointments" don't point in any good directions. It feels like we need whole new levels of public discourse. The usual satire, despondency, SNL skits can't meet it.

Important for people on the traditional Left (the whole spectrum) who haven't much touched the "spiritual" to know that there is an important chunk of us fully connected to human reality and doing real work of integrating our higher options & ways of being.
Spiritual just means "beyond ego."

Maybe a Feed specifically for Fucked Up Trump Shit that we can check at will.
there has to be a better way than sounding an alarm every single time a deranged trump-related story drops. it's unhealthy and unsustainable. we need to find a way to stay informed without spiking cortisol and without losing sight of the bigger picture. i'm just...not sure how.
