Probably out for a walk right now… 🌲🐿️
September is NICU Awareness Month. Sending love to all of the amazing NICU families who never expected to be part of this club 💜

One day, he'll be two: Words of wisdom from a nurse to a NICU mom - Today's Parent
It’s the kind of thing that you can’t fully appreciate in the moment, but our nurse's words have played over in my mind countless times since the day we brought our son home from the NICU.

I would LOVE to see an investigative journalist tackle the issue of air quality in Ontario’s schools. What happened to all the HEPA units that were deployed by the ministry? Hearing from multiple kindie teachers that units have been removed and not replaced. #CovidIsNotOver

It may be 29 degrees, but we’re cranking up the AC and the best Christmas bops, and fully leaning into small joys today. #ChristmasInJuly

When public health is working well, it’s invisible, says podcaster Daniella Barreto. It’s a bad thing that it’s been so visible lately.

Masks should never have been politicized.

Covid doesn’t care if you’re right or left. It doesn’t care that you’re over it or that you trust your immune system.

It’s never too late to start masking again! Every infection avoided or delayed is a win (and a life possibly saved).

Stop saying “post covid”. People are confusing the end of the public health emergency with the end of the pandemic.

The pandemic is not over. “During COVID” is now.

If we want to end it, we need to first acknowledge this fact. Then mask up, clean the air & develop better vaccines & treatments.
Suggesting the world is “post COVID” contributes to an unwitting shift in research priorities

Convinced my kiddos that The National Society of Words and Letters had introduced a new letter in the cursive alphabet called the “triple-u,” to be used in words that would normally start with w+u. My work here is done. #AprilFoolsDay

Repeat after me:

Children are not widgets.

Schools are not factories.

Education is not a business.

Saving money is not the ultimate goal of education.

Public education is an INVESTMENT in our collective future that can produce literate, compassionate, critical thinkers and leaders.

I voted for Healthcare.

I voted for Housing.

I voted for Affordability.

I voted for the Environment.

I voted.

And you should, too.

All I needed was my driver’s license.

(I didn’t have my voter card.)

In the last Ontario election, more than 6 million eligible voters did not vote.

That’s 6 million voices missing from the conversation about our province’s future.

Advanced polling happens today and tomorrow.

Please make sure your voice is heard.
