A new policy went into effect at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill : the University can record a class without the permission or knowledge of the instructor.

"Students will self-censor if they know that their words in class can be recorded by administrators.”

If there is any non-nefarious justification for refusing to admit something is AI generated, I haven't heard it.
1/ At bargaining yesterday, @propublica.org management said that they should have 100% discretion to replace workers with AI and would not commit to labeling future AI-generated content.

told a doctor about how typing too much at work gave me tendon issues that mean for the past two years I have had to wear wrist braces for all my typing tasks and she was like, "hopefully AI means you have to do less of that!" noooo that is not the answer to workplace injuries please

Agents in Key Largo, Florida ripped this woman wearing medical scrubs out of her car as she screamed she is a US citizen. Agents cuffed her and put her in one of their cars.

NEW: @propublica.org investigated the Chicago apartment raid where kids were zip-tied and citizens detained for hours. They find:

- NONE of the arrested were criminally charged
- NO evidence the building was "filled with TdA terrorists."
- ZERO legitimate reason for DHS to rappel from a Blackhawk.

years ago I was in talks to work on a Conde podcast and never moved forward because of this! their record of anti-union action was a huge turn off. solidarity with the journalists there who were doing their jobs and looking out for their co-workers.
New: Conde Nast fired four employees who were among a group that confronted the company's head of human resources on Wednesday over the decision to fold Teen Vogue into Vogue/recent cuts. Employees who were fired included journalists from the New Yorker, Wired, and Bon Appétit.
