Jarred Vanderbilt would be like the 4-5th best defender/athlete on the Rockets, Spurs, Thunder?
Having to rely on him to be THE and on most nights (other than Smart but that’s a different type and size of defender) only guy, says a lot.

Yelling and stern film sessions could have short-term impact, but any lasting changes or the type of improvement needed has to come with roster reconfiguration. Can’t will a guy to run faster, jump higher or be taller.
Quick Lakers thought:
There’s definite truth to what JJ said and conversations hopefully lead to some internal improvement. On his part as well (starting lineup, etc). But ultimately think there is just so much you can expect/do with this roster and any real change has to come in external moves.
