Fires are still burning in the Arctic in the winter. The climate catastrophe is here.
Spending political energy to massively increase pipeline production in Canada is not nation-building. It is planet burning.

So we are now facing runaway climate change that will destroy life on this planet. This is tragic. But what is even more tragic is that we have the tools to stop it, but virtually nobody wants to. Because… <checks notes> oh yeah, “Economy” or whatever.

The great derangement syndrome. As the world blows past the 1.5 degree red line Trump and Carney talk about reviving Keystone XL.
It won't lower tariffs on wood, furniture, steel, auto.
But it will be a massive carbon bomb to a struggling planet.

Democracy depends on a fearless and free press.

Corporations or ultra-wealthy individuals with many other business interests should not be allowed to control our media.

They cannot be trusted to prioritize the public’s right to know over their own financial interests.

I remember back in the 80s when radio stations such as Voice of America provided crucial newscasts for countries behind the iron curtain. Today, USA is under a fascist regime where truth is actively suppressed. Time to launch an unbiased news network aimed at the USA from outside its borders.

Since 1980, there have been over 400 weather disasters in the US, with total damages over $1 billion.

These disasters have cost $2.9 trillion in total and killed nearly 17,000 people.

Don't tell me we "can't afford" to address the climate crisis.

The truth is we can’t afford not to.

Interesting: why rationalising with those swept up by right wing propaganda doesn’t work. Before Trump’s conviction 17% of Republicans thought that felons could still be presidents. Once Trump became a felon, 58% changed their minds on the principle.
