He thought back to when he’d had to support that thin frame within his arms. “Why are you so sneaky now?” Jiang Cheng was not really thinking anymore, certainly not enough to mince his words. “Cunning. Scheming. Whatever. You never used to be like that. I mean, sure, you were always happy to let others do the work for you. But you were never this…” “Manipulative?” Nie Huaisang looked back towards Jiang Cheng, and whatever he saw on Jiang Cheng’s face must have been amusing enough to trigger another rueful smile. “There, I said it. You were thinking it anyway.” Jiang Cheng had been, along with a bunch of other, less savoury words that even he was not cruel enough to say.

The biggest thing i've learned as an artist who sells prints and merch is don't make what people ask for. They won't buy it. Make what you, the artist, want to see printed on the support of ur choice.
I can't explain why but THAT'S what will sell. People who buy the most are the silent ones. 🫶

Remember, artists: when people say, “I’d buy a print of this,” they don’t mean it. That sentence itself is just a weird compliment that rarely converts to an actual print sale. It’s like if someone ate a very good hot dog and then said, “I could eat 10,000 of these right now.”

Not a minute later did Lan Wangji excuse himself to go off and train, with Huaisang — surprisingly — joining him. It was just Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng in the room now. Jiang Cheng itched to throw himself into something productive, but there really was nothing to do except wait for Ouyang Zizhen to wake up. Wei Wuxian cleared his throat. “Jiang Cheng… want to go for a drink?” Jiang Cheng frowned. “In the midmorning?” “And?” Wei Wuxian countered. “Do you have anything better to do?” Jiang Cheng… didn’t.
