Waffle House has better de-escalation than cops
I teach bystander intervention for a living and have taught de-escalation to law enforcement.
Trust me when I say that bottle girls, gas station clerks, strippers, front desk employees at hotels and airports, baristas, etc. have better de-escalation skills than any cop I've ever seen.

Our soup kitchen served 74,327 meals in 2025... thousands & thousands more than any previous year in the Bread Line's history of feeding #Fairbanks.

Our soup kitchen served 74,327 meals in 2025... thousands & thousands more than any previous year in the Bread Line's history of feeding #Fairbanks.

Had looong anxiety dreams all night & woke up to half a dozen real life stressors jangling my last nerves.

I'm so proud of the soup kitchen team. There's so much going on & such enormous human complications to navigate. Still, every day & every way, the crew shows up for each other just as big as they do for those we serve. It's incredible.
