Exciting news! From 1st May 2025, I will be starting on the ImProGlyco project with Daniel Ungar and Jamie Wood in York!

This project will be manipulating glycans on cells to enable discovery and production of next generation therapies for cancer, neurodegeneration and other disease families.

Last night I noticed this giant haploid cerevisiae cell in a plate full of normal cells - so decided to image it overnight. It did nothing for 6 hours then a giant daughter budded and the mother exploded - wtf?

As a constituent in one of the few surviving Tory areas, I didn't expect to feel any local representation during this government, but a nod to the fact that David Davis voted for the assisted dying bill. Did your MP?

I signed up to Bluesky on 5th July 2023 when Facebook also went into the Twitter business, and until recently it's been like being on the Underground after 11pm. Nice to see the carriage is filling up with so many lovely people now!
