yeah so Take It Down Act is actually way more nefarious than is being discussed. This is the way to categorically ban legally protected adult content (a goal since the dawn of the modern web) under the guise of protecting adults and kids from sexual exploitation.
BTW the criminal exceptions suggest that anyone who has ever published consensual porn of themselves may be excluded from NCII protections. It’s not limited to a specific image, just the fact that a body part was once exposed.

This aligns w/anti-porn activists’ aim to punish/deter adult performers.

My thoughts on the Take It Down Act as someone who used to handle copyright takedown (and other) requests at Google. 🧵

As many have said, this law will be used as the ultimate weapon for the Trump Admin to censor speech from their political opponents (and more).

The Recorder picked up the letter that @alaguilar.bsky.social and I drafted regarding the botched administration of the California Bar Exam.

We provided more details as to why we sent the letter 👇

State Bar 'Must Be Held Accountable': A Call for Corrective Action in Wake of Bungled February Exam
The California State Bar must be held accountable, not just for its catastrophic failure in administering this exam, but for its ongoing role in ensuring the practice of law remains accessible only to the privileged few.

Always an honor to work with @jmiers230.bsky.social. We call on the Bar to do what’s right here, uphold the values of the profession, and continue its work towards advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and fairness in the profession.
As law professors and active members of the State Bar of California, @alaguilar.bsky.social and I are appalled by the administration of the February 2025 exam.

We sent the below letter to the CA State Bar, Chief Justice Patricia Guerrero, and Governor Newsom.
