Native American History Month is the perfect time for non-Indigenous writers and scholars to stop referring to Indigenous belief systems and stories as “folklore” and “myth.”

If there was ever a time that we need Indigenous stories told in our own language & imbued with our values - that time is NOW. It is with great honor & humility that we will premiere our short #TwoOldWomen film at #HIFF45 w/ our Kanaka relatives. 🙏🏽 Mahsi’choo to author #VelmaWallis for her support!

In 2023 I had the privilege of speaking with artist about their advocacy to end violence against Indigenous Alaskans. I want to highlight their voices, always, but especially in light of the AKDPS’s refusal to assist Data for Indigenous Justice.

Alaska's legislature has adjourned a special session, only hours after it convened. It is a human right to learn to read but in too many places, kids across Alaska are learning in buildings with black mold & leaking roofs. They're stuffed into classrooms with only one overworked teacher.

It’s a system guaranteed to fail.

The WGA members who write on shows like “Molly of Denali” know people in rural America NEED public media to SURVIVE:

"Public media is often the last remaining communication left to us when conditions are severe and power goes out...the essential service of public media saves lives and property."
Opinion: Public media is a lifeline in Alaska and rural America. The Senate needs to stop the proposed cuts.
We’re Alaska Native writers on “Molly of Denali,” and we know how much is at stake if Congress cuts funding.
