interesting bits of math on my commute emissions:
driving to work is about 13,000 gCO2e (lifecycle gasoline).
e-biking is about 113 gCO2e for electricity, plus ~400 kilocalories.
acoustic biking is about 1,000 kilocalories.

I have spent entirely too much on new bicycle wheels, and have surrendered to replacing perfectly butyl rubber with a new kind of bike goop. Tomorrow we’ll see if it actually makes my commute faster, but initial impressions are that I’m much more plush at least

The correct answer to finding the actual speed is high along a section of road is to redesign the road so that you get the speed you want! Unfortunately traffic engineers just roll over and raise the speed limit.
