The plant itself is brittle and weak, not apparently well suited to the harsher conditions of its native region, but it persists nonetheless through the unconventional and harrowing feeding strategy which lends the tree its name; the power to compel other living creatures to lie down at their roots, and not get up again. Honestly this is the whole thing. While there are some professional bigots who will never change, I truly think a ton of everyday people who have been brainwashed by the hate campaign against trans folks would stop after meeting and learning from real trans folks. That's why they wanna silence us.
