Lore Art: Loam Strider

The resulting elemental formation will then wander off to find more suitable conditions for the plant, all the while helping to distribute seeds as it matures. “As an herb, the loam strider plant is a versatile ingredient in many magical concoctions, with the roots of course being a staple in many invigorating tonics. “The holes left behind by the land spirit itself will also typically manifest a variety of lingering magical properties.”

A monster is not always malicious, and ‘natural’ is not a synonym for ‘good.’ “The bizarre tree known as Calls-to-Rot is a sharp reminder of these truths. The plant itself is brittle and weak, not apparently well suited to the harsher conditions of its native region, but it persists nonetheless through the unconventional and harrowing feeding strategy which lends the tree its name; the power to compel other living creatures to lie down at their roots, and not get up again. What remains of them decays, providing abundant fertilizer for the tree, giving it that much more of a chance of survival. “Calls-to-Rot is exceedingly rare, and its methods are kept in check by the already sparse resources available in its range of growth. However, should one ever manage to take root in any location more abundant with life, the effects on the ecosystem can be catastrophic if not swiftly dealt with by local stewards.”
