Good analysis
Some thoughts on the CR/minibus.

1 The Dems negotiating with Rs were not freelancing. They coordinated with Sen Schumer. A few were ready to give in on day one, others worked to maximize appropriations wins.

Those voting for the 'deal' are the ones furthest away from electoral consequences.

How is it that the American people are better leaders of the RESISTANCE than the “leaders” of the opposition party in the Senate?!?

Rent inflation for low-end apartments is crazy high. Are construction & land costs in working-class burbs too high to add new supply economically?
Cos the lobbyist's line 'Luxury Vacancies Will Filter Down' is let them eat cake .

Seriously.
agreeing to make a terrible deal while your main opponent is quite literally being boo'd on live tv by an entire stadium of people is the kind of political instinct you'd normally only find in a 3 week old dead goldfish

This!
I honestly don’t get the value of this company. They hoover up energy and water. Their product constantly gets things wrong and, in extreme cases, coaches people into suicide.

And it’s all built on what seems to be malicious and vast intellectual property theft.

What does OpenAI offer the world?
“authors & publishers who filed a lawsuit against the Sam Altman-led firm have secured access to internal Slack messages… discussing the mass deletion of a pirated books dataset… A NY district court ordered OpenAI to hand over the communications regarding data deletion”

Build more homes?

Nah let’s use 50 year mortgages

Buy cheaper sedans instead of expensive trucks?

Nah let’s do 84 month auto loans

Make food at home?

Nah let’s pay for a private taxi for a burrito from DoorDash

Gov't-backing of 50-year mortgage would create more buyers, but 'more demand, same supply' means prices go up. Plus, a buyer who can't afford monthly payments of a 30-year mortgage probably shouldn't be on a 50-year either, they're likely to default.

It'd just be inflating the bubble a bit more.

MAGA shutdown is about keeping the Epstein info private.
Congress is onto week 8 of paid leave - meaning that Congress is given more time off and paid more to PREVENT the public birth of the Epstein Files than American mothers are given for maternity leave after giving actual birth to human babies.

He couldn’t “comply” because of his disability…they don’t care

This is not the first time they’ve gone after a disabled person

They target the most vulnerable because it’s an easy way to meet their quota
